Alumna of the Year Nominations

Each year, Presentation Academy recognizes the contributions made by one of its graduates through the Alumna of the Year Award.  Presentation is now accepting nominations for the 2006 award.

The Alumna of the Year is a woman who has made her life an example of commitment.  She has demonstrated a willingness to serve and to be responsive to the needs of others.  She is distinguished in her efforts to live out the mission of Presentation’s founder, Mother Catherine Spalding. She is a modern woman in a modern world, dedicated to preserving the high educational standards for which Presentation Academy stands. 

Nominations should be submitted by April 1 to Kathy Marshall, Alumnae Office, Presentation Academy, 861 South Fourth Street, Louisville, KY 40203, kmarshall@presentationacademy.org.  Please include detailed reasons for the nomination of the alumna.

Alumna of the Year

Mari Sweeney Hammer, '59

   During the 46 years since her graduation from Presentation Academy, Mari Hammer has distinguished herself as a woman of service to her family, her community, and her alma mater.  Mari has taught at Presentation for 35 years and currently serves as Assistant Principal. 
   Mari is married to Joe Hammer and has a son (Adam), daughter (Kate, Presentation class of '87), and 3 grandchildren:  Rayyan, Bilal, and Nusaiba.

Presentation Academy Hall of Fame

Presentation’s third Hall of Fame induction ceremony was held on
Sunday, August 21, 2005.  The Hall of Fame honors those alumnae and faculty who have made outstanding accomplishments while at Pres, or after their years at Presentation.  The 2005 inductees are:

Social Outreach – Sister Margaret Regina Murphy, SCN ’43

Be Involved!

The Presentation Academy Alumnae Board meets once a month to organize activities that benefit the Alumnae Association and current Pres students.  We also do some community service.  If you can commit a couple of hours of your time to your Alma Mater, we would love to have you.
